Narrative:
Dakota III KG489 was hit by machine-gun and canon fire from Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighters. The aircraft operated on a resupply mission to Arnhem, Netherlands, during Operation Market Garden.
The aircraft crashed in flames near a farm along the Everse Akkerpad, just east of Sint-Oedenrode.
