Narrative:
NZ1815 with the Flight Lieutenants Edward Casey and William Trott departed Ohakea at 0917 hours on a training flight. The last communication with the aircraft was at 1011 hours.
The wreck was located 3 days later just below the summit of Shingle Slip Knob, in the Waiohine Valley, Tararua Ranges.
It was presumed that NZ1815 had drifted off track and crashed while descending through cloud.
