The pilot-in-command and his passenger took off at Lesce - Bled Airport (LJBL) towards Slovenj Gradec Airport (LJSG). After take-off, the pilot flew towards Krvavec, Smrekovec, past Uršlje Gora. After receiving clearance to land on runway 14 (LJSG), the pilot began to reduce airspeed and altitude.
As the airspeed was decelerating, the aircraft nose-dived rapidly. In doing so, the pilot performed manoeuvre which translated the aircraft below minimum speed, resulting in a vertical loss of altitude and a crash. The pilot and the passenger were severely injured. The aircraft was completely destroyed, but there was no fire.
Cause of the accident
HUMAN FACTOR: Loss of speed and altitude due to piloting technique.
