A USAAF Consolidated B-24D Liberator aircraft, 41-23884, crashed on takeoff from Shemya, Alaska. The aircraft impacted several aircraft on the ground. Douglas C-47A's 42-23842 (msn 9704) and 42-23837 (msn 9699) were damaged beyond repair as a result.
