The accident took place at around 18:30 and the ultra-light , which was being used in flight instruction , fell in the Municipal Aerodrome grounds of Mirandela , but already off the track, having crashed into a car that was parked .
The two victims had been taken from ultralight by people who were close to the airfield.
On arrival of the first teams the ultra-light was burning, and it was not possible to determine whether combustion started in the air or after the fall of the aircraft. The flames consumed the ultralight almost completely .
