The plane was apparently hit by cannon fire. The plane made a forced landing at the airport. There were no personal injuries.
The plane was was assigned with the Heavy Photographic Squadron Sixty-One (VAP-61) and was stationed at Guam.
It had a large hole in its wingtip.
