After a pilot was reported missing with his glider, a search mission was executed.
Finally the wreckage was found late at night by a Bavarian-state-police helicopter using a infrared-camera in neighbouring Austria.
The crash site is located near a muntain-pasture in the state of Tyrolia, just 5km south of the Bavarian border.Several mountain-rescue-staff as well as firemen were airlifted and driven close to the accident site.
After the pilot was extrcacted from the wreckage, he was manually carried 150m upslope by rescue staff to a ridge.
From there a resuehelicopter picked him up at apx. 4 `o clock at night and then airlifted the injured pilot to the Innsbruck-University-Hospital.
The pilot ist stated to be seriously injured, but is in a stable, non-life-threatening condition.
