Probable causes
The rupture in flight of the airplane, while it had just made a half-turn, is due to a loss of control and the application of too strong constraints on the airframe under positive load factor.
The following factors contributed to the occurrence of the accident:
- short preparation of the flight which contributed to the choice of flying over the Alps where bad weather conditions were forecast,
- hypoxia phenomenon,
- entry into the clouds with loss of visual references,
- icing and turbulence in clouds,
- pilot fatigue due to the duration of the flight and the poor weather conditions encountered.
