Narrative:
Flew into the ground fifteen miles north of Ahlhorn, West Germany during air to ground firing practice. The pilot (Flt Lt T. M. Bushnell) was killed

Anecdote from Mr. Ian Hovey, RAF 1974-79: "I was on 14sqn when Terry Bushnell crashed, we think it was target fixation as he went in on the range or he was trying to re-align the NAVWASS head down. We were at Wildenrath at the time as they were doing the runway at Bruggen. Sad loss. The Squadron put the kites to bed, then we went over the NAAFI and got wrecked, Pilots and all!."

Note: a Jaguar on static display outside County Hall in Norwich since February 2007, marked as "XX822" is of course, not actually XX822, but a composite airframe, largely based on Jaguar prototype XW563
