Narrative:17.3.17: Royal Aircraft Factory B.E.2g, No.2814, 16 Squadron, RFC. Shot down by air ace Manfred von Richthofen in his Halberstadt D.II, west of Vimy, Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of France. Both crew - 2nd Lt. George MacDonald Watt (aged 27) and Sgt. Ernest Adam Howlett (Service Number L/8861, aged 26, on attachment from 1st Battalion, The Buffs (East Kent) Regiment) - were killed
