Narrative:Boeing B-29-5-BW Superfortress 42-6304 of 40th Bomb Group, 395th Bomb Squadron, USAAF: ditched in Bay of Bengal, about 100 miles off the mouth off the Ganges River in India due to fuel transfer problems on June 5, 1944, following a raid on the railroad shops in Bangkok in what was the B-29's first bombing mission in WW.II. Two crew died and 10 crew rescued: after 24 hours they had reached a small island, where they were attended by the natives before being evacuated by a British Catalina. Crew of 62-6304 were:
